Hello,
First, you would want to check that your trailer is properly loaded and your tongue weight is within the recommended range (10-15% of your gross trailer weight). You can also check to make sure that your tires are properly inflated, underinflated tires reduce the load-carrying capacity of your vehicle or trailer. If your car is equipped with a factory sway control system you would want to disable it so your weight distribution hitch can work as designed.
